Lloyd Lee Hill, 90 of Unionville, MO went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 10, 2026, at the Putnam County Care Center where he had resided for the past 7 years. We are thankful for the care and kindness he received while living there.
Lloyd was born on April 8, 1936, in Putnam County, MO to Henry “Lee” and Edna (Crouse) Hill. He was a graduate of Unionville High School, Class of 1954. After graduation, Lloyd moved to Des Moines, IA and worked as a miller at Inland Flour Mill. Lloyd married his high school sweetheart, Wilma Gilworth, on June 19, 1955, and to this union two daughters, Teresa Rene and Lisa Sue were born. Lloyd and Wilma spent the first eleven years of their marriage in Des Moines, IA.
The Hill family moved back to Putnam County in 1966 and purchased a farm from Lloyd’s Uncle Bruce Hill, South of Lemons, MO. Lloyd was the owner/operator of Hill Dozer Service and raised cattle. Lloyd and Wilma’s next business venture began in the early 90’s when they joined Wilma’s brothers and their spouses in the development of the North end of Lake Thunderhead in Unionville, MO. Lloyd moved his dozer to the lake and was responsible for building the roads in the undeveloped north end. He also worked with the engineers on installing seawalls and utilities. He also cleared many lots for new homes. Lloyd and Wilma enjoyed 20+ years together in their home at the lake. Lloyd especially enjoyed time with family and their home was always open for company and rides on the pontoon boat or jet ski.
Lloyd enjoyed taking care of his cattle, deer hunting trips to Wyoming, fishing trips to Canada and Minnesota, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on a cruise to Alaska, a dinosaur dig in Utah and beautiful Hawaii.
Lloyd accepted the Lord as his Savior at a young adult and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Unionville, MO.
