Gerald Wayne “Pi” Campbell, 89, of Centerville, passed away June 9, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. He was born on July 5, 1936, in Glenwood, Missouri, to Thomas and Norma Campbell, and married Loretta Jean Vanderheyden on September 8,1956, in Unionville, Missouri. Ordained in 1985 at the Eden Baptist Church near Humeston, Pastor Campbell led the Dale Church, north of Centerville, for nearly forty years. He is survived by his son, Rod Campbell of Centerville; brothers Tommy (Mary) and Herbert Campbell; grandchildren Brandon and Wade Campbell of Des Moines and Krystal (Srikant) Mikkilineni of Peoria, Arizona; and great-grandchildren Ahsha, Alyla, and Rayar; and several extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by
his wife, Loretta; his parents; brother Ervin; sisters-in-law Wanda and Marilynn; and grandson Gerald Thomas “G.T.” Campbell. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 13, at the Dale Church, 18994 Highway 5 North, Centerville, with visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Sunset View Cemetery near Moulton.
