Jerry Dean Crooks, age 87 was born on October 3rd, 1938 to Kenneth and Elma Robinson Crooks, at home in Livonia, MO. Jerry passed away at his home in Nixa, MO on May 20th, 2026 after a brief battle with cancer.
Jerry grew up in Livonia, graduating from the Livonia High School in 1956 where he lettered in basketball. Jerry was united in marriage to Sheila McHenry and they had a child together, but later divorced. Jerry then joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. While in Germany, he was proud of the fact that he had seen The Beatles at a local bar. After an honorable discharge from the US Army, he returned to Iowa to work where he met and married Ruth Ann Swanson, later having three children.
After their marriage, they moved to the St. Charles, MO area where he went to work at McDonald Douglas in July of 1966. He was a member of the Aerospace Local 837. He worked as a journeyman and at the time of his retirement in 1997, he was a machine repair mechanic. Jerry and Ruth Ann enjoyed spending their time together, attending Cardinals baseball games, bowling, and going camping; so much that they later moved to Blue Eye to live on the lake. After Ruth Ann’s passing, Jerry married Connie Thompson. Jerry and Connie continued to live at Table Rock Lake for several years before moving to Nixa. They enjoyed their free time spending the winters in Texas and at Lady Bear games.
Jerry is survived by his son Barry and wife Amber, of Rogersville, MO, Janelle and her husband Shawn of Nixa, MO, Julie and Otis of New Florence, MO, also surviving are Jerry’s bonus daughters Debbie and Ladonna and families, his grandchildren Kelly, Dakota, and Seaven. His great grandchildren Jaiden, Trish, Derrick and Destiny and his great-great grandson Paiden Burch. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Alma, his wives Ruth Ann and Connie, his son Brad and great granddaughter Allison.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 29th, 2026, at the Martinstown Church of Christ. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Martinstown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday morning beginning at 9:00 AM until the service time.
