Gary Dean Davis, 90, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away on October 9, 2025. He was born on March 15, 1935, in Unionville. He was the son of Lester “Poppy” Davis and Gayle Morrow Davis.
Gary married Lois Stull, on June 6, 1959, and from this union they had 5 children. He is survived by his children Denise Cowan (Ed), Lisa Brown, Donnie Davis (Christy), and Shelley Davis (Diane Jones). He was a proud grandfather to Christina Garten, Nathan Alexander (Jenny), Matt Alexander (Heather), Hayden Davis (Nadia), Emily Soto (Mychal), Destiny Simms, and Zoe Davis (Tallon Teel), and a great-grandfather to eight beloved great-grandchildren.
Gary was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1959 and then served six years in the National Guard. He spent many years as both a truck driver and farmer. Gary had many hobbies and talents and enjoyed woodworking, building Model A and Model T cars, and crafting beautiful cabinets. He also enjoyed collecting and selling antiques. Music was also a great joy in his life; Gary played multiple string instruments and shared his talents playing in bluegrass bands.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Brenda Lee and his grandson Gary Michael.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The Davis kids would like to share a couple of quotes from their dad on getting older: “Your chances for becoming a rock and roll star are over.”
“Don’t listen to all the propaganda the young folks say about this is your Golden Years. It’s a bunch of baloney.”
Casady-Luscan Funeral Solutions is honored to care for and minister to the Davis Family at this time.
