Judith Ilene Skipper, 80 of Walnut Shade, MO passed away with her family by her side at her home on June 4th, 2025.
Judith was born on February 19th, 1945 in Unionville, MO, the daughter of Johnie Francis and Lora Faye (Coffman) Small. On November 2, 1963, Judith married Dennis Skipper at the Small family farm in Powersville, MO and 2 children were born to this union. She was a long time active member of the First Baptist Church in Forsyth, actively teaching and leading. Judith worked on the family farm growing up, so she naturally became a caregiver to everyone her life touched. In later years she worked in retail, most recently at TJ Maxx where she brought joy to so many lives, both her coworkers and her customers. She was constantly giving without requests. Judith was an excellent gardener and had beautiful flower gardens. She put a lot of love and care into their home and loved to host friends and family.
Judith is survived by her husband, Dennis of the home and a daughter, Annette Skipper and husband, Mark Goodin of Kimberling City, MO. Her surviving grandchildren are Alicia Plotz of Chicago, IL; Devin Plotz of Springfield, MO; and Nicole Skipper of Charlotte, NC. Surviving great grandchildren are Reighlyn Plotz and Paizley Plotz. Judith is also survived by a sister, Phylis Seaton (Gent) of Powersville, MO; brother-in-law, Ernest Skipper (Vanna) of Arcadia, FL; sister-in-law, Marilyn Guffey (Jack) of Powersville, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Judith was preceded in death by a son, Edward Skipper; sister, Mary Knowles and husband Neal; and an infant brother, Charles Small.
Memorials in Judith’s honor may be made payable to the Unionville Cemetery and entrusted to the Thomas Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565
Judith Skipper’s funeral service will be held at the Thomas Funeral Home in Unionville, MO on Monday, June 9th at 11:00am. Her visitation will begin one hour prior to her funeral, beginning at 10:00am. Ernest Skipper will be officiating the service.
