Margaret Carol Boland, who loved her family, friends, Snoopy and clouds, passed away peacefully on August 30th.
Margaret was born on May 5, 1937, to James Frederick and Norma Jean (Maxwell) Boland on the family farm near Powersville, Missouri, the third of six children.
She attended Fairview country school for eight years, two years at Ravanna High School and graduated from Unionville High School in 1957.
She married and divorced from Dwaine McDonald; they had a daughter Debra Lynn.
She and her daughter moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she worked for Business Men’s Insurance, City Service Oil Company and Allstate Insurance Company.
In October 1962, along with her daughter Debra and friend Charlotte Fanning, she moved to Sacramento, California. In January 1963, she was employed by Nabisco Brands, Inc. and continued that career for 35 years retiring as a Senior Office Clerk in 1998.
During her years in Sacramento, Margaret volunteered at various organizations including Sacramento Children’s Receiving Home, WEAVE, Senior Gleaners, and was a caretaker for both her mother and a close friend, Frank Rose.
For many years she remained an active member of Curves Gym and an Arden Fair mall walker, where she accumulated over 3,000 miles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Donna Jean Boland and brother Frederick Carl Boland. She is survived by her daughter Debra L. Williams of Sacramento, California, and siblings Shirley Ferguson of Arkansas, brothers Dan Boland of St. Joseph, Missouri, Max (Mary) Boland of Seaside, California and sister-in-law Sandra Boland of Columbia, Missouri. Grandsons Eric (Gina) Williams and Scott (Indrid) Williams. Step-granddaughters Lori (Jeff) Solden and Tina (Karl) Pierson. She was known as GG to ten great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren and was known as Aunt Margaret to numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
May she rest in peace as she joins her family and friends in Heaven. She will be dearly missed by all and always remembers for her beautiful handmade cards she religiously mailed out for all occasions.
A Celebration of Life will be held November 4th in Sacramento, California.
